چکیده

All multimedia services must be accessible. Accessibility for content is typically provided by means of access services, which subtitling likely the most widespread approach. To date, numerous recommendations and solutions classical 2D audiovisual have been proposed. Similarly, recent efforts devoted to devising adequate VR360 video content. This paper, first time, extends existing approaches address challenges remaining efficiently 3D Virtual Reality (VR) exploring two key requirements: presentation modes guiding methods. By leveraging insights from earlier work on content, this paper proposes novel methods, not only provide freedom explore omnidirectional scenes, but also additional specificities VR compared content: depth, 6 Degrees Freedom (6DoF), viewing perspectives. The obtained results prove that always-visible subtitles a proposed comic-style mode are significantly more appropriate than state-of-the-art fixed-positioned subtitles, particularly in terms immersion, ease comfort reading, identification speakers, when applied professional pieces with limited displacement speakers 6DoF (i.e., users expected navigate around virtual environment). even such movement scenarios, show use indicators (arrows), as method, well received. Evaluation of Depth Cues in 3d Subtitling

Recent explosion towards 3D content-enabled devices has brought to light many issues regarding user comfort, depth perception and accessibility in media. One important element that touches these areas is subtitling. We define a pipeline to produce extruded texts for evaluating3D subtitling properties (using traditional 2D depth cues). An evaluation of current 3D tools was carried out, and the c...

Describing human activities for VR presentation

A virtual reality tool is presented which allows to display the activity of a human operator performing a routine which involves manipulation with objects. This tool represents a presentation module of the running EU project ActIPret. The project stresses mainly the cognitive vision aspects and aims at interpretation and understanding of expert activities for teaching and education purposes. Th...

A Multimodal Presentation Markup Language MPML-VR for a 3D Virtual Space

Toward effective information distribution through WWW and a new style of multimodal media, we are conducting researches on multimodal presentation using lifelike character agents. As part of our research, we have developed MPML (Multimodal Presentation Markup Language), which allows the users to write multimodal contents with ease. By extending MPML, we have designed MPML-VR (Multimodal Present...

Low-rank 3D mesh segmentation and labeling with structure guiding

Semantic mesh segmentation and labeling is a fundamental problem in graphics. Conventional data-driven approaches usually employ a tedious offline pre-training process. Moreover, the number and especially the quality of the manually labeled examples challenge such strategies. In this paper, we develop a low-rank representation model with structure guiding to address these problems. The pre-trai...
